Movie: Flower (2017)

Shot in 17 days with a half-million dollar budget, Flower is a fascinating, character-driven tale about a Erica Vandross, a teenage girl who uses sex as a way of controlling the world around her.  Her mother, who is one of those "My child is my best friend" idiots, is trying desperately to have a relationship of her own with a good man.  However, Erica's behavior scares any potential suitors away.  When her mother finds a kindhearted, determined man, Erica forges a deep relationship with his troubled son, Luke.  When she decides to exact revenge on Luke's accused molester, the two quickly find the situation going off-the-rails.

Making the most out of a good story are strong performances, particularly Zoey Deutsch and Erica and Joey Morgan as Luke.  You can find it on Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and DVD.
